Tour of the California Academy of Sciences
in Golden Gate Park

The New Academy of Sciences created by the noted Swiss Architect, Renzo Piano is the first completely “Green” designed Museum ever built.

From it’s planted roof to it’s natural circulation, he has created an incredible building consisting of a 21st century planetarium, a 4-story rainforest, a living coral reef with 2,000 reef fishes, and a state of the art habitat for the 20 member African Penguin Colony complete with a 25,000 gallon Salt Water Tank. The Academy is a Unique and Spectacular work of Architecture.

Come join us for a tour of this facility led by Renzo’s project manager, Brett Terpeluk of Studio Terpeluk, and David Battenfield of Lundberg Designs, the project manager of the two restaurants in the Academy run by Charles Phan, of “The Slanted Door,” and Loretta Keller of “Coco500.”

We will meet at the front of the Academy outside under the awning and proceed at 9:30 to the Academy Cafe where Bret and David will talk to us about their projects. From there we will go off on our own to tour the Academy accompanied by an audio tour.

We are limited to 80 reservations which must be accompanied by a check—NO RESERVATION accepted without payment.

The deadline for reservations and receipt of checks in the P.O. Box is 11/3/08.

No Tickets at the Door. No Cancellations Accepted.

Paid parking available at the Concourse Parking Facility on Fulton Street & 8th Avenue and street parking available throughout Golden Gate Park.
